Wire Mesh in Chapin School | Jakob

Webnet© from Jakob Rope Systems, a wire mesh fabricated out of 316 stainless steel strands, was installed in a multi-purpose space on the rooftop of the Chapin School in New York, USA. On the rooftop, called 'Rooftop Play Turf', students participate in Physical Education classes or practice and engage in small-sided competitions.

Jakob Rope Systems offers a range of products for playgrounds and indoor and outdoor sports; from fiber rope nets for climbing to wire nets for safety.

The product used for this design was Webnet© micro with a 2mm cable and 80 mm diamond opening, with which designers were able to guarantee the safety of the students, prevent the fall of sports equipment without blocking the sunlight, and preserve the impressive views of New York.
