Lumiflex Video Flooring from ASB GlassFloor was used to create a digital lake and waterfall in the Microsoft Dublin building.
This unique project required a special construction design from ASB. A pixel pitch of 25 mm was selected to ensure a homogenous surface finish and match the futuristic architecture of the building. The total surface coverage was 80 m² and consisted of LED glass video elements covered with patented glass that reduces reflection to a minimum.
The waterfall was created with a special laser technique ensuring reflection is at an absolute minimum, making the glass surface act as a transparent balustrade with a height of 440 cm. The end result creates the visual of water flowing down while the floor mimics the surface of water. Both elements are controlled individually with Plug&Play via an HDMI interface with a single video file, this allows for easy and flexible use of the area.
