Thanks to its heat treatment process, Thermowood allows durability and resistance to outside elements such as fungi, insects, and weather, however, maintenance is required. This guide presents Tantimber's steps to maintain its ThermoWood products.
1. Plan an annual check-up
It is important that once a year, you plan a time to evaluate your ThermoWood product and see how it is holding up. Make a list of all necessary maintenance tasks, year by year.
2. Product cleaning
ThermoWood, like any building material, needs to be cleaned occasionally to remain to look as good as possible. Two of the primary ways to clean ThermoWood are with soap, and water or using a pressure washer, only if the product has been coated or protected.
3. Color Protecting
Clean the ThermoWood using the tips above. Then, neutralize the ThermoWood to prevent discoloration when the new coating is put on. To protect the color from UV rays, put on a premium natural wood finish in the desired color. These finishing coats will prevent its slow-down fading.
