Carlsberg’s old brewery district – Carlsbergs byen – in central Copenhagen is undergoing an extensive transformation to include new housing, offices, and shopping. The beer producer’s head office in the area is now complete and reflects an elegant interior that focuses on identity, knowledge exchange, and innovation.
Beer-Inspired Decor
The color palette was inspired by the company’s various beers. From a light lager beer to dark stout. Gustaf’s acoustic panels make up a large portion of interior finishes in a smoked oak veneer. Gustaf also created the cabinet doors in the same wood veneer as the panels. The combination of nano-panels with plain wood panels is impossible to detect because of just how small the acoustic perforations are. |
An invisible combination
To do justice to the fine wood veneer finish, the use of Gustaf’s micro-perforated acoustic panels was a clever choice, as the wood panel is emphasized in its entirety without any visual impact from larger perforation holes and still gains from the acoustic insulation offered by the cladding.
The acoustic panels are installed in the communal area and in the large atrium, which is also the main entrance to the company’s premises.
