What is the ComfortZone Testing Process
- Clearance Test - The first part of ComfortZone is focused on the clearance between the faucet and washbasin to find the number of space users have for movement between the spout and drain. To determine this, a test ball is placed between the faucet and washbasin to check if the user can wash their hands comfortably. As a result, if the ball does not fit in the center under the stream of water, that combination of faucet and washbasin is not recommended.
- Spray Test - This step checks the splashing behavior and determines if there are combinations in which there is an excessive splash when water hits the basin. This test also checks for splashing that occurs outside of the washbasin, and the process is performed several times with different water pressures to render a more realistic result.
- Practical Test - In this step, the splashing behavior with different faucet and washbasin combinations is tested. A standard hand model rotates three times under running water to simulate the movement of hand washing. Thus, any water that splashes outside of the basin is noted and affects whether or not certain combinations are recommended.
