The Royal Atlantis is one of the most prominent and prestigious Resort & Residency buildings in Dubai. The building has 43 levels with six-star hotel accommodations and 231 residential homes. One of the largest window-framing projects in the world, the Royal Atlantis includes 2,500 windows and 35,000 m2 of glass, all framed by Orama Minimal Frames.
Framing System - Orama Minimal Frames
In 2018 the New York-based architectural firm KPF collaborated with Orama Minimal Frames to provide the project with invisible frames for 2,500 windows and doors. The waterfront structure is made largely from steel, marble, reinforced concrete, and a striking 90,000 m2 of glass in its facade.
The development was completed in 2020 and despite the challenging environment and uniqueness of the aesthetic and performance demands, Orama delivered high-performance aluminum systems that met the architects’ vision. Orama's ONE/Omicron framing system was customized to create the ATLAS/Omicron, a specialized framing system made for large dimensions that provides great results against wind load and water penetration. The Royal Atlantis led to a new approach in production for Orama Minimal Frames, sharing their industry experience with local partners.
