More about this product

Guest House was designed as a place for friends to gather and spend quality time together. Designed by architect Ekaterina Borisova-Shiyan, one of the primary goals was to create a strong connection between the architecture and its natural surroundings. With the use of Axolight's U-Light and Mountain View pendant lights, the interior space is illuminated and creates an inviting aesthetic.

Design Concept

The Guest House is an ideal space for leisure and relaxation amongst friends. Large windows provide ample natural light and expansive views of the outdoor nature. For architect Ekaterina, it was especially important “to submit the materials in a way that their textures and natural beauty were revealed gradually, creating an interesting, quiet visual environment. It was very important to find the best solutions in all the interior parts and natural colors of the house."

Further, Ekaterina explained "in the project, I used my formula 'scale – form – comfort -budget'. Exactly in this order, since each room had an individual volume and configuration. In forms, I wanted to withstand the constantly changing rhythm of straight and curved lines, I think this directly affects the quality of the rest. ”

Thus, the U-Light and Mountain View Axolight pendants were selected to complement this emphasis on filling the Guest House with a comforting feeling and natural motifs.

U-Light Pendant

Axolight's U-Light is a suspended pendant light designed by Timo Ripatti which plays with geometry and graphic design. In the Guest House, the U-Light is used in key gathering areas, including the living room with a fireplace. Here the luminaire acts as an elegant component that both illuminates and frames space without overpowering it.

Mountain View Pendant

Axolight's Mountain View is a suspended pendant light designed by Dima Loginoff which combines the rugged appearance of mountains with refined hand-crafted glass. In harmony with the U-Light, Axolight's Mountain View pendants are incorporated in the dining area to provide striking mountain imagery while evenly lighting the space. Together, the Mountain View and U-Light fixtures accentuate the interior space of the Guest House and act as functional illuminating elements.
