After installing a large lap pool in their side yard, Waterloo homeowners contacted Monarch Fine Landscapes & Interiors to add their professional touch.
They wanted shade over the pool that was architecturally appealing but still functional. This led them to ShadeFX’s new Freestanding Retractable Canopy.
A 16’x10’ freestanding frame powder coated Traffic Black was mounted over the pool, wide enough to clear the pool cover tracks. A double manual shade that retracts from either side was added in a Sunbrella Slate fabric.
Its two-post design makes it a versatile product in any outdoor renovation. It ensures a sleek look giving better access to the pool that may otherwise be hindered by a heavy four-post structure.
The homeowners, along with family and friends, can now enjoy the shade without having to leave the pool. They also have added UV protection. With the flexibility of retracting the shade on either side, pool loungers can decide when they want shade or open sky.
