Located on a steep site in Sydney's Eastern Suburbs, this home renovation sought to create a new rumpus room space in an excavated sub-floor area. The main challenges for this renovation were the structural engineering and the plumbing. Located under the level of the sewer and stormwater mains, traditional gravity-fed plumbing solutions were not an option.
The solution to this challenge was the installation of the Sanicubic 2 Pro from Saniflo inside a closet below the floor level. This pump enabled the installation of a toilet, shower, dishwasher, washing machine, and two sinks. The flexibility to add a bathroom, kitchenette and laundry allowed this rumpus room to also act as a self-contained living space for visitors and as an extension of the family home.
