Roller Shades in Plaza 13 | BANDALUX

Located in Madrid, Spain, and completed in 2020, Plaza 13 is a residential building developed within a former industrial precinct. The generous floor-to-ceiling heights prompted the architects - Bueso-Inchausti & Rein Architect - to specify a fully glazed principal facade with a second skin by Bandalux that provides shading. This second skin is comprised of operable blinds and allows for optimized energy efficiency while allowing natural lighting of the internal spaces.

The shading system is a combination of the O-Box System with Polyscreen® 550 fabric, a 100% recyclable and healthy material, which offers excellent thermal protection, managing up to 94% of solar heat.

O-Box System features an elegant cylindrical aluminum box, its rustproof components are very weather resistant making it ideal for outdoor use.

Polyscreen® 550 has a 5% openness factor, which guarantees an excellent balance between thermal efficiency and visual comfort. It provides energy savings for heating and air conditioning and is highly resistant to extreme weather conditions and chlorine. It is a sustainable and eco-friendly fabric, as it does not contain hazardous substances.
