DecoPanel in Channel Nine Building | DECO Australia

1 Denison Street in North Sydney is a new office building occupied by Nine Entertainment. The elegant design by Bates Smart Architects stands out from the commercial buildings surrounding it. On the façade of the 1.4 billion dollar tower, the architects selected DecoPanel Flat Sheet Cladding in a custom finish from DECO.

The prime location close to Sydney Harbour made the choice of façade materials especially important; with challenges from direct sunlight, ocean air, and traffic exhaust fumes; the material needed to be especially durable. The architects chose DECO's DecoPanel with a custom DecoWood® powder coat finish.

The DecoPanel solid aluminum flat sheets fit into the requirement for a natural timber-look that is 100% non-combustible and fire-safe. DecoPanel has the added benefits of having a low maintenance, aesthetically pleasing finish that offers the protection necessary for city buildings against harsh weather. On top of meeting the key safety requirements, DecoPanel was able to support the buildings Premium Grade, 5 Star Green Rating since the sustainable building product does not involve using harmful VOC’s in its production.

The DecoPanel flat sheets wrap around the lower half of the façade imparting warmth and sophistication to the busy streets. Due for completion in 2020, 1 Denison Street will host major brands including Nine Entertainment Co, Microsoft, and oOh!media.
