Kvadrat Acoustics Broadline panels in the West Bund Museum enhance aesthetic and acoustic qualities in diverse spaces throughout the multifunctional art gallery. The Auditorium, Studio in Creativity Gallery and The Box feature a total of 453 Acoustic Broadline panels. Kvadrat Acoustics were specified for their strong acoustic performance, ability to minimize panel joints and fixture-integration flexibility.
- Auditorium
In this multipurpose hall, Acoustic panels on the walls are covered in the textile Field, in black. The largest panels of the project, at 6,045 m long, are installed here. - Box
Like the panels in the Auditorium, the walls and ceilings of the Box art space are covered in black Field textile to give the space a sense of mystery. The textile is also used for its fire-retardancy performance. - The Studio
An education space, the studio incorporates Acoustic panels in white tones. The walls are upholstered in Patio and the ceiling panels covered in Melu Acoustic. The ceiling panels use an elegant hinged solution that simplifies maintenance.
West Bund Museum
West Bund Museum consists of three main gallery volumes placed in a pinwheel formation around a central lobby. Each of the 17m high main galleries has two levels; the upper level hosts a top-lit gallery space and the lower level spaces vary in function housing a multipurpose hall, an art studio and education spaces.
The three dominant volumes of West Bund Museum are clad with translucent recycled glass. The facades appear iridescent during the day and prismatic at night, which creates an intriguing contrast with the smooth brightness of the plaster-clad hovering roof canopies.
