The design intent of the terrazzo floor in 75 Rockefeller Plaza lobby is beautifully achieved with the classic simplicity of the installation. Projecting the aesthetic of a traditional cement terrazzo floor, the design is executed in a thin-set epoxy terrazzo system, with glass, marble, mirror and porcelain aggregates from Terrazzo & Marble-Supply Companies.
The two-color terrazzo floor, with its focus on the intricate ashlar-style strip pattern and joints in one-quarter-inch brass, replaced a marble tile floor and complements perfectly the vertical surfaces and the architecture of the space. Excellent craftsmanship is evident throughout.
