Characteristics
Possibility of upright design, prevents glare and lets in a soft light when facing north, deisgned for installation directly in sloped roofs without adding a sub-construction
Vitsoe HQ located in Royal Leamington Spa, UK, is a company that designs and fabricates iconic minimal-modernist furniture. In 2017 they decided to create a new building, designed by Waugh Thistleton Architects, for this project they wanted something that reflected their "system thinking" approach, which focuses on products that are flexible and modular.
To accomplish their objective, the architects opted for using VELUX Modular Skylights, specifically, VELUX Commercial Northlights. They chose them because it's a fully prefabricated system with elegant profiles and slim sightlines.
This VELUX Modular Skylight is composed of row modules, that can provide large amounts of glare-free daylight.
Northlight 40-90° is ideal for spaces that require soft light and does not require sub-construction for installation. This solution allows fast and easy closure of the roof, reducing costs, and can be applied in sloped, shed or saw tooth roofs.
