Natura by EQUITONE is a fiber cement facade material that has been produced in Europe since the 1950s by EQUITONE but under the name ETERNIT. The finished panel is both weatherproof and UV-stable. The panel is made up of a through-colored baseboard with a semi-transparent colored finish which results in the structure of fiber cement material shining through. Natura sheets consist of the following:
- Portland cement
- Minerals fillers
- Cellulose fibers
- Polyethylene fiber fillers
- Polyvinyl alcohol fibers
Size & Edges
Natura is available in 8mm and 12mm thicknesses. The panels are available in either untrimmed or trimmed formats; the maximum Trimmed panel size is 10´x 4´ (3100x1250mm) and can be easily transformed in any shape or size to suit the desired façade modulation.
- Untrimmed
The panels that come off the production line have raw edges. These are available for distributors with the equipment to cut and trim the panel themselves for any project. - Trimmed
The factory provides a cutting service for customers who do not have the necessary cutting facilities. Approximately 15mm needs to be trimmed from the untrimmed (raw) panel to ensure correct squareness.
Use & Applications
EQUITONE fiber cement materials can be perforated, printed, or routed. Fixing methods include riveting, screwing, and invisible mechanical fixing on metal or wood supporting frames. EQUITONE fiber cement materials can be used in the following applications:
- Façade: Rear ventilated façade cladding and detailing to window and doors
- Exterior ceiling: decorative cladding of ceiling
- Weatherboarding
- Eaves and verge boards
- Interior wall lining
Natura comes in a wide range of through-colored variants, ranging from bright white (N164) to black (N074).
Performance & sustainability
EQUITONE fiber cement is non-combustible (EURO A2) and has a life expectancy well exceeding 50 years. Rainscreen facades constructed with EQUITONE are thin and lightweight, yet highly durable, causing minimum energy and raw materials depletion.
