More about this product

Sky-Frame Plain is a track option for the frameless Classic sliding system in which the floor tracks are fully recessed and concealed. While the standard Original track leaves a visible rail, Plain hides it: the sliding panels glide along narrow gaps of 10 mm (double glazing) or 13 mm (triple glazing), and the zone between the tracks is finished with the same flooring as the room's interior. Inside and outside are joined by a single continuous surface, and the threshold remains level throughout the opening.

Construction
The tracks are integrated into the floor build-up, and floor coverings of up to 20 mm can be laid between them so the interior finish runs through the facade line. Drainage is integrated into the floor construction. The system layout keeps the running gear and the track zone accessible in installed condition, so maintenance and cleaning do not require removing the panels.

Technology Glazing Uw value Climate suitability
Sky-Frame 2 with Plain 30 mm double 1.32 to 1.86 W/m2K locations with a minimum annual temperature of 5 C or higher
Sky-Frame 3 with Plain 54 mm triple 0.67 to 0.93 W/m2K insulated for cold regions

Panel sizes of up to 2.3 x 4 m (7'6" x 13') are possible in both configurations, with larger dimensions on request, and the daylight-to-glass ratio is 98 per cent. Driving rain, wind load and sound insulation values are documented project-specifically or on request.

Opening layouts
Plain follows the opening layouts of the Classic system, including side openings, centre openings, corner openings without a fixed post and multi-track configurations that let several panels run in parallel.

Features
Depending on configuration, Plain can be combined with Classic features such as the electric drive, switchable glass, security hardware and the concealed insect screen.

Applications
Typical applications are residential projects in which the boundary between living space and outdoor area is designed as a single continuum, with the same stone, tile or screed surface running through the facade line. Ceiling-height glass, flush floor transitions and concealed profiles support barrier-free layouts. The system is also used in hospitality and commercial buildings for facade openings to terraces, gardens and balconies.

Colours and manufacture
Seven anodised finishes are supplied as standard: the colourless E6/EV1 and six chemically mattened Colinal tones. Further anodised colours are available on request, as is powder coating in the RAL, IGP and DB colour systems, applied in-house to the Qualicoat standard. All components are developed and manufactured in Switzerland; more than 15,000 projects have been realised since 200
