Sky-Frame Drive is the electric drive for the frameless Sky-Frame sliding system. It opens and closes the sliding panels virtually noiselessly at the press of a button and is invisibly integrated in the upper frame profile, so the automation affects neither the architecture nor the frameless appearance.
Construction
Drive is the Sky-Frame Power-Drive, a new and more powerful unit developed exclusively for Sky-Frame and introduced as the new standard. Each panel is driven separately, which ensures controlled and precise movement: the defined opening and closing sequence is reliably maintained, and the panels cannot slam together. The result is high operational safety, low noise and durable, smooth running. The control is parametrised at the factory, and the drive is delivered fully assembled and pre-wired, which allows fast installation and efficient commissioning; a manual emergency closing function is provided in the event of a power failure.

Operation
Operation is possible via on-site wall switches, via the Sky-Frame Touch control integrated in the locking handle, or through an on-site building automation system. A light press opens, closes or stops the panels at any point. Because every leaf has its own drive, wide, heavy or telescopic fronts are moved with the same controlled sequence as a single panel.
System compatibility
Drive is standard with the Classic system and available with Arc and Slope on request; it is not offered with Pivot. It is also compatible with the hurricane-rated version. With Sky-Frame 3, Drive can be combined with Switch. It works with the base glazing technology and does not change its thermal, watertightness or sound insulation values.
Applications
Typical applications are large or frequently used sliding fronts in residential architecture as well as hospitality and commercial buildings, where facade openings to terraces, gardens and balconies are operated at the press of a button.
Colours and manufacture
Seven anodised finishes are supplied as standard: the colourless E6/EV1 and six chemically mattened Colinal tones. Further anodised colours are available on request, as is powder coating in the RAL, IGP and DB colour systems, applied in-house to the Qualicoat standard. All components are developed and manufactured in Switzerland; more than 15,000 projects have been realised since 2002.
