After a successful inaugural year, Ice Breakers is returning to Toronto's Waterfront. The Waterfront BIA has again enlisted WinterStations Inc. to bring five temporary, public art installations to various sights between Bathurst St. and Yonge St. for five weeks, commencing February 03, 2018.

This new edition of Camposaz will take place from 15.09.17 to 24.09.17 in Bairro da Liberdade de Lisboa, a small neighborhood that sees its first home only from the twentieth century. Located at the foot of the aqueduct of the Free Waters and Monsanto Forest. Camposaz consists in a free workshop aiming at designing and selfbuilding architectural objects for landscape enhancement. It is targeted to 12 young architects and designers, selected by Camposaz collective, for the purpose of gathering in a temporary group the processes of design and selfconstruction.

Collegiate institutions can start planning for the U.S. Department of Energy Race to Zero Student Design Competition (Race to Zero), which is at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) in Golden, Colorado, April 21–22, 2018.

Started in 2009, Warming Huts: An Art + Architecture Competition on Ice has been melding world-class design and art with Winnipeg’s famous winters. The competition has seen entries from across the globe and caught the attention of international architecture publications and awards, as well as admiration from newspapers such as the New York Times.
Warming Huts is an open competition, supported by the Manitoba Association of Architects. Proposals for the competition are submitted online at www.warminghuts.com. Once entries are submitted, a blind jury selects designs that best “push the envelope of design, craft and art.”
Detroit Design 139* is pleased to announce an open call for submissions that will result in an exhibition showcasing exceptional architecture and design work within the City of Detroit. Architects taking part in this competition shall design a new square. It is to take the place of the central fragment of the vast Plac Defilad [Parade Square] in the very center of Warsaw. THE BENCH is an idea based design competition open to all ages and backgrounds. The challenge of the competition is to design and install a temporary structure on a street to transform the street environment to a form of public space. The challenge of THE BENCH 2017 is to design a seasonal seating- space along the street edge(s) defined by the competition. The competition will unfold in two phases: selection by jury and installation for seasonal use.
