Meet the Architecture and Design Festival which will be hosting guided tours through the hidden gems of the underexposed architectural hub, Columbus, IN. From post offices to public libraries, the city is embedded with landmark marvels by some of the greatest known architects of our time. Located just 40 miles south of Indianapolis, the city is home to about 46,000 and is one of the most architecturally significant cities in America with masterwork buildings and landscapes by the likes of Eliel Saarinen, Eero Saarinen, Kevin Roche, I.M. Pei, Harry Weese, and Deborah Berke.
Following various studies and polls, a number of players in the US real estate market that focus on offices (CBRE, JLL, and Gallup) agree that managers and operators must offer flexible, amenity-rich offices to support the modern employee commute. Broadly speaking, we are all being called to do more with less space, and for many in the office space world, pods will prove part of the solution. Let’s consider the trends supporting this notion.
Colentina Lakes, international design competition. Bucharest, Romania
The Romanian Order of Architects (OAR), with the support of OAR Bucharest Territorial Branch, together with the Contracting Authority – the 2nd District of the Municipality of Bucharest, are glad to announce the official launch of the "Colentina Lakes, 2nd District, Bucharest” International Design Competition. Considering the extent and diversity of the Implementation area and taking into account the different design challenges, the Contracting Authority, together with OAR, decided to resort to the award of public procurement contracts by lots and decided to divide the implementation area of the competition into three lots as follows:

In pool design, one big challenge is to make sure that the pool blends in with the rest of the architecture. These were the premises that Sebastián Arquitectos took into account in this project for a villa—Casa EA!—, using a single floor tile collection by Gres Aragón. Set in the midst of Litago nature reserve, at the foot of Mount Moncayo in Zaragoza (Spain), the villa blends in beautifully with its surroundings.

Open House Milano returns for its 9th edition on the weekend of May 25 and 26. With 100 sites across Milan opening their doors, the festival will showcase a unique blend of large-scale urban projects and intimate private spaces, reflecting the dynamic changes shaping this historic city. Camposaz 41:41 edition is hosted by the Proloco of Sagron Mis, a small mountain community in the heart of the Dolomites. A flat or low slope roof assembly consists of several components that need to work together efficiently and consistently to offer a long-term, sustainable solution. While the roofing membrane is often the top and therefore most visible layer, what lies under it has a significant impact on the overall roof performance. Choosing the adequate and most sustainable materials (and ensuring their proper installation) is what makes a roof stand the test of time and be ready for the challenges of the future.
Whether it’s excitement or caution, there’s no escaping the buzz of AI in architecture. It offers architects and designers the power to innovate, streamline, and create a built environment that’s equally functional as it is visually appealing.

To understand what the industry really thinks about AI, over 1,200 architectural professionals were asked about how they are using it in their daily practice. We delved into how it influences design processes and workflows and what they think the technology’s impact means for the future of the profession.

The 7th edition of Open House Brno returns on the weekend of May 18 and 19. The festival will open doors to 116 locations across Brno, inviting visitors to explore the diverse architectural landscape of the city. In addition, the two-day event will feature musical performances, special locations to explore Brno's gastronomic scene, and an accompanying programme for families with children.

The 10th edition of Open House Vilnius will be held on the weekend of May 18 and 19. During the festival, 70 objects will open their doors to the city's residents and visitors. The programme will feature a wide range of architectural guided tours, meetings with the city's creators, and artistic performances.
