There is a growing modern trend of people abandoning their lives in large cities and opting instead to live in smaller communities. These intentional communities are an evolution of the utopian colonies and communes of the past, where individuals shared resources and responsibilities in equal measure. In the US alone the number of intentional communities has nearly doubled in recent years, with 1,200 communities registered in 2016.

AMSTERDAM CYCLING BRIDGE

In this competition, we ask participants to design a cycling bridge in the context of Amsterdam, an effective connection over the river Ij for pedestrians and cyclists – 1 design expressed in 3 drawings.

72H Axo Battle - WATER PARK

The “72h Axo Battle” is a design competition developed to explore the creative potential of architectural design through one of the most iconic architectural drawings: the axonometric projection. You have 72 hours to develop a proposal that responds to the program contained in the extended contest brief, which will only be available when the battle starts. This Axo battle is titled “….. Water Parks”. The title is only a preview of the complete theme of the competition. More will be explained in the extended brief that will be available on 19th February 2021.

Call for Submissions: 2021 Architectural League Prize for Young Architects + Designers | Housekeeping

CALL FOR ENTRIES

Young architects and designers are invited to submit work to the annual Architectural League Prize Competition. Projects of all types, either theoretical or real, and executed in any medium, are welcome. The jury will select work for presentation in lectures, digital media, and an exhibition in June 2021. If COVID-19 restrictions are required, the exhibition and lectures might shift to a digital format. Winners will receive a cash prize of $2,000.
