‘Inside Iconic Houses’ at Case Study House #26
Commemorating the 60th anniversary of Case Study House #26, the next episode of ‘Inside Iconic Houses’ will be streaming live from the house on November 17, 5PM GMT, followed by a Q&A session with the current Case Study House owners and residents Alfonso Cordon and Cord Struckmann.
Case Study House #26 was designed by Beverley Thorne (1924 - 2017) and built in San Rafael, California, near San Francisco in 1962. It is part of the influential Case Study House program that was initiated in 1945 by John Entenza and his ‘Arts & Architecture’ magazine to explore and showcase to the public how modern families could live in post-war California. This Case Study House explored how to build efficiently on hillsides
The ‘Inside Iconic Houses’ event is held on the 60th anniversary of the initial, public tour - mandatory for all Case Study Houses - in November 1962.
The event is held by the Iconic Houses Network, a Netherlands-based organization, running an international network of architecturally significant modern house museums and artists' homes and studios from the 20th Century that are open to the public.
Tickets to the event can be purchased on the Iconic Houses website.
Other Case Study Houses are the Eames House (#8), also part of the Iconic Houses Network, or the Stahl House (#22), both located in Los Angeles.
