This September 21-24, New Generations will have the privilege to host the 10th edition of the New Generations Festival at the Royal Academy of Spain in Rome. Titled “New Urban Challenges”, the Festival will see the participation of more than 30 international guests, through a series of public lectures, exhibitions, online events, and satellite activities.
New Generations is opening a call to select a series of emerging European practices that could be part of the festival in Rome for one of the central activities, called 10x10 challenges, on September 22 or 24, at 19:00h. The event foresees the participation of 20 international guests, presenting one “challenge” in one round of presentations, each lasting 10 minutes. Selected participants would choose 1 or 2 representative projects realised by his/her/their studio during the past 5 years, dealing with one of the most urgent challenges that contemporary architects address through their work (e.g. having an impact on climate change, facilitating participation, innovation in material transformation, creating new hybrid spaces, experimenting new forms of living, etc.). Through this edition of the Festival, New Generations would like to analyse how European emerging architects introduce new solutions to urgent matters through innovative design.
Key info:
-The call closes July 17, 23:59 CET.
-By filling the form, participating studios confirm their availability to be in Rome in September 22-24 (the specific date could be discussed with the selected participants).
