Competition task:
Create an adaptive reuse project, providing functional use that fits building topology and urban context. At the same time aiming to:
— preserve autenticity;
— increase the profitability of the property complex;
— unite the property complex into a single concept;
— integrate the territory into the urban context.
Requirements for projects:
— buildings on 14 and 16 Levka Lukianenka St. (former Melnychuka) are architectural heritage of local significance, so it is not allowed to interfere with their physical condition;
— design decisions must take into account the historical context of the competition area;
— mandatory requirement to ensure the accessibility and inclusiveness of the territory and buildings.
1st Prize — 5,000 €
2nd Prize — 3,350 €
3rd Prize — 1,650 €
Participation in the Competition is free. Competition participants do not pay the registration fee. Given the restrictions related to the COVID-19 pandemic concerning transportation, participants from Ukraine can order the printing of presentation boards from the Organizing Committee. For foreign participants, this option is mandatory to avoid delays in sending competition tablets (presentation boards).
Architects are invited to participate in the competition. To submit a competitive project the author can form a team, being its leader or participant. The team must include an architect, whose qualification certificate (or a relevant for your country document) was added during registration. Students can participate in the competition as part of the team.

- Yurii Dubyk (Lviv, Ukraine) — architect-restorer, associate professor of the Department of Architecture and Restoration of the Lviv Polytechnic National University, member of the National Union of Architects of Ukraine, member of the Ukrainian National Committee ICOMOS, winner of the State Prize of Ukraine in the field of architecture.
- Marko Savytskyi (Lviv, Ukraine) — architect, founder of the architectural bureau Savytskyy Design, member of the Architectural Town Planning Council of Lviv, co-author of amendments to the Law 1553 on the preservation of UNESCO cultural heritage.
- Marian Andrukhiv (Ivano-Frankivsk, Ukraine) — architect, founder of the A37 architectural bureau, Chairman of the Board of the Art Gisheft NGO.
- Yurii Kovalchuk (Ivano-Frankivsk, Ukraine) — architect, head of the architectural bureau M-105.Architects, member of the National Union of Architects of Ukraine and Ivano-Frankivsk regional organization board, member of the Architectural Chamber, member of the Architectural and Urban Planning Council of Ivano-Frankivsk.
