The theme of this edition of the London Design Biennale is ‘Resonance’ and its Artistic Director Es Devlin has issued a call to action: “Can we design a better world?”.
As part of Sustainability & Innovation Day, Wallpaper* Architecture Editor Ellie Stathaki will chair a panel comprising architect Mario Cucinella – curator of the Italy pavilion – alongside academic Michael Ramage and architect Ron Bakker, who collaborated on the project “Unfolding”, which is also showing at the Biennale.
The aim of the panel is to discuss the evolving relationship between nature and our expanding urban environments. Through the examination of new techniques for the responsible use of traditional materials, the panel will explore new adaptable solutions to reduce the impact of climate change and create a sustainable balance between people and the planet.

LONDON DESIGN BIENNALE
Established in 2016 by Sir John Sorrell CBE and Ben Evans CBE, London Design Biennale promotes international collaboration and the global role of design. The 2018 Biennale welcomed the world’s most exciting and ambitious designers, innovators and cultural bodies to the capital. The third edition of the London Design Biennale takes place from 01-27 June 2021, curated by Artistic Director Es Devlin.
