MATTER, METABOLISM, MEMORIES

Exploring urban cultural ecologies, systems and new spatial practices - from one form to another.

Join the School of Architecture, Planning and Landscape at the University of Calgary in a discussion moderated by the Advocates for Equitable Design Education with lectureship block week instructors Arijit Sen (The University of Wisconsin), Alison Hirsch and Aroussiak Gabrellian (University of Southern California, Design Foreground Agency), and Felecia Ann Davis (Penn State University).

MATTER, METABOLISM, MEMORIES is a dialogue about paradigms, adaptations, and shifts - locating design praxis as a transforming and mediating technology that applies pressure to the material and non-material substances making up everyday life. The rhizomatic expression of the city as a cultural landscape wherein multiple narratives take root and become embedded is ever at conflict: how do we unearth new ground for diverse and just expression?
