Kaohsiung Museum of Fine Arts (hereinafter referred to as KMFA) is going to budget 195 million NTD for its “Transformation & Rebirth——Exterior Renovation Project of Kaohsiung Museum of Fine Arts.” The Museum looks forward to creative proposals from outstanding domestic or foreign architectural teams, based on a “Coronation” concept to strengthen the function of museum’s roof, solve the substantive issue of roof leakage, and endow it with a new image with aesthetic quality by “retrofit” or “facelift” solutions.
KMFA serves not only the core of Kaohsiung’s cultural tourism, but also a cultural landmark of the City. It is expected that architecture professionals at home and abroad can take inspiration from the “natural features of local landscapes,” “attitude toward life,” and “industrial processing technology” as well as other characteristics of Kaohsiung City, to echo with the essence of local cultures, art & humanities and nature, which reflect the spirit of friendly interaction and sustainable harmony together.
With the highlight of future architectural design, KMFA hopes to turn this core value into “Transformation & Rebirth,” gathering public attention on its art potential and envisaging the possibility of the next 25 years. Let the newness of KMFA be seen!
The submission is now until May 20th (Wed), 2020 17:00 PM (GMT+8). Tender briefing with on-site orientation is scheduled to be held on April 15th (Wed), 2020 10:00 AM (GMT+8) in the B1 Lecture Hall of Kaohsiung Museum of Fine Arts.
NOTICE:
Please note that a foreign architecture team must cooperate with Taiwanese architecture team to join the competition together. For details of this project, please download the tender document from the “Government E-Procurement System.”
