Presenting architects in conversation with creative figures, Architecture Foundation’s headline annual lecture in collaboration with the Barbican will see architect Sam Jacob in conversation with Dutch visual artist Madelon Vriesendorp.
Madelon Vriesendorp is a practicing artist who co-founded the Office for Metropolitan Architecture (OMA) with Rem Koolhaas, Elia and Zoe Zenghelis in 1975. Vriesendorp has taught art and design at several schools, including the Architectural Association and the Edinburgh School of Art. Recent exhibitions include The World of Madelon Vriesendorp at the Architectural Association and Lina Bo Bardi: Together, starting in London and ending in Sao Paolo.
Sam Jacob is principal of Sam Jacob Studio for architecture and design. His work spans scales and disciplines ranging from master planning and urban design through architecture, design and art projects. Recent projects include the design of the V&A Gallery in Shenzhen, China and A Very Small Part of Architecture, an installation in Highgate Cemetery commissioned by The Architecture Foundation.
