We are currently accepting applications for the Arnold W. Brunner Grant administered by the Center for Architecture and AIA New York.
Purpose:
Advanced study in any area of architectural investigation which will effectively contribute to the knowledge, teaching or practice of the art and science of architecture. The proposed investigation is to result in a publicly available written work, design project, research paper, or other form of presentation to be offered at the Center for Architecture.
Award:
Single award of up to $15,000.
Eligibility:
Applicants must be a U.S. citizen engaged in the profession of architecture or a related field and have received their first professional degree at least five years prior to the date of application.
Deadline:
Applications must be received on February 1st by 5:00 pm EST. Applications received after the deadline will not be considered. No exceptions.
Jury Guidelines:
Proposals should engage in advanced architectural investigation that contributes to the practice, teaching or knowledge of the Art and Science of Architecture. The Brunner Grant is intended to be a prestigious award given to mid-career architects. Proposals should be judged on the following criteria.
- Qualified Applicant qualifications
- Need The project cannot be completed without funding
- Contemporary Engages with contemporary architectural issues
- Relevant Engages current local and global issues
- Useful Project results in useful end product
