TIJLAND was praised for its clear vision of a sustainable, environmental and ecological development of the area, while maintaining the characteristics that make the place a focus for harbor activities. The TIJLAND offers an improved experience of the river and a connection to the inner city of Dordrecht. Additionally, it offers the integration of a working-living environment back into the natural aspects of the community.
Over the next few months MASS and Joep van der Veen Architectuur will be developing TIJLAND into a more detailed plan and elaborating the phasing of the design until 2060. TIJLAND will be exhibited at the Centrum Beeldende Kunst in Dordrecht in early 2011 and will be featured in an issue of Blauwe Kamer where all six winning schemes can be viewed.
