Syracuse Architecture along with IE Business School and IE School of Architecture and Design have teamed up to offer an innovative summer course: The Business of Architecture. The six-week, 3-credit hour-long course will be conducted at the state-of-the-art Fisher Center, home of Syracuse Architecture in New York City. This course is intended for those studying for a professional degree in architecture (B.Arch and M.Arch) as well as for young professionals and qualified students in related design fields.
Design excellence is no longer enough to guarantee success in the highly competitive and rapidly changing world of 21st century architecture and design practice. Understanding how business decisions impact design and design decisions impact business is fundamental. Developing new areas of expertise in business strategy and marketing, along with developing skills for effective negotiation, team building and presentation, increase the architect and designer’s effectiveness and expand and enhance their role in the profession and in society.
Combining the strengths of both institutions and complemented by special “backstage” lectures by outstanding professionals in the field, the highly interactive classes will provide an intensive “bootcamp” experience for students and young professionals seeking to understand the business side of architecture and design. Syracuse Architecture along with IE Business School and IE School of Architecture and Design team are a top ranked institutions of higher learning and hub to unique talent and original mindsets.
FORMAT Blended: face-to-face + online.
