This coming October, the international month of architecture, BABEL is launching a new project: Macau Architecture Promenade. MAP opening is schedule for 10/10 at 6.30 at the Creative Albergue and it will last until 1/11.
MAP is a month long celebration of Architecture, and its relations to other arts in the public space. MAP celebrates urban culture, experimentation and innovative practices in order to inspire new ways of thinking about the city.
It presents a program of 3 exhibitions and shows, 3 talks and books presentations, 6 film screenings, more then 10 workshops sessions, and art interventions in architecture and the urban space (4). It involves more then 30 international and local artists.
MAP offers unprecedented access to our city architecture & heritage through guided visits and tours to specially selected building or old quarters, some of them conducted by specialist on architecture, heritage, city development, local festivities, and religious architecture.
Specially designed educational activities will also fill up October with learning opportunities for children and families in the fields of Architecture and Art.
Being coordinated by BABEL, MAP counts with the collaboration of more than 20 organizations, including from Universities to Kindergartens, from Museums and to Cultural Association, from private to public sectors, without which MAP could had never happened.
MAP
MAP highlights the key role that architecture & art play in cultural, urban and social development.
The MAP question is simple: What role does architecture and art play in shaping a better city, better lives and better futures? And, how public is the public space?
