Ecole Professionnelle Viège / Bonnard Woeffray Architectes The new class building of the Viège/Visp College of Further Education achieves a transformation in terms of context and enables the linking of the neighbourhood’s schools, the creation of a training campus, and the integration of the future workshops and gyms. Plastic House / Architecture Republic A house is excavated and a space created. The insertion of an object allows inhabitation. The house is on a terrace whose split-section is native to Georgian Dublin; a grand parlour to the front with smaller rooms to the rear at half-levels one up and one down from the street. The project begins with removal – of the existing extension, internal walls and earth – bringing the entire house to lower ground-floor level. Santa Elena House / Antonio Sofan Santa Elena is a rural farming area up in the mountains, east of Medellín, Colombia. It composes a group of 17 small villages called: “veredas”. People who live down in the valley think of Santa Elena as a scenic, fresh air place of cool temperatures. Galilée / Studio Bellecour Architects Galilée is one of the debut projects realized in the UDZ (Urban Development Zone) Andromède, in Blagnac, near Toulouse in France. The particular urban details of this UDZ in Blagnac provided a unique climate for the development of a quality architectural project. House in Ubatuba / SPBR Arquitetos Ubatuba is one of the most important coastal cities in the state of São Paulo. This 55m x 16m ground plot, located at the far right end of Tenório’s Beach, borders on the seashore at one side and goes up a 50% slope hill, only reaching street level at 28 meters. The hard steep hill and its trees are both protected by environmental laws. They have inspired the entire strategy used in the conception of the project (read more…)
