The second semifinal of South Africa’s World Cup has kicked off. Germany and Spain are fighting to play The Netherlands in Sunday’s final game. Haus M / Titus Bernhard Architects The distinctive feature of the property lies in its north-facing slope, which has to be negotiated over two storeys to reach the almost flat garden level. Pitch House / Iñaqui Carnicero The house is located in a small neighbourhood on the west boundaries of Madrid in a place called “los Peñascales”, that mean something as well as great stones. The plot is characterized to have a great slope oriented to the south and have two great granite rocks partially covered by moss. Forestview House / Atelier st In a uniform, from florid preroofs and cultivations stamped residential area, the clearly formed volume emits rest and presence. All cultivations and overhangs it was renounced. The garage was integrated unobtrusively into the building sculpture. The rectangular and narrow construction body is cut in the ground floor and is bent. This incision forms a protected, roofed input area and separates at the same time internal functional areas in his crease points (read more…)

The MA. A museum that wishes to transmit the entire history of Andalusia. Open Air Library / KARO Architekten The open air library, we established in 2005 in an abandoned district centre in East Germany has been started with a public intervention, using beer crates as building material: On the fallow site of the former district library a 1:1 model of a possible Open-Air-Library has been build up for two days and the shelves have been filled with book donations (read more…)
Parish Church of Santa Monica / Vicens & Ramos The generating idea of the project was that of situating, within the confusion of the surrounding urban environment, a building that would mark a milestone and become a continuos testimony to the spiritual function produced in its interior, and which must necessarily spread and manifest itself permanently to the nearby social and urban medium (read more…)
Dupli Casa / J. Mayer H. Architects The geometry of the building is based on the footprint of the house that previously was located on the site. Originally built in 1984 and with many extensions and modifications since then, the new building echoes the “family archaeology” by duplication and rotation. Hemeroscopium House / Ensamble Studio For the Greek, Hemeroscopium is the place where the sun sets. An allusion to a place that exists only in our mind, in our senses, that is ever-changing and mutable, but is nonetheless real.
