Featuring around 220 events spread out over 10 days, Budapest Design Week kicks off its 11th year on October 3rd. With exhibitions, workshops, lectures and a range of other events spread across all design disciplines, the program will suit all tastes - however, perhaps the highlight for architects will be the presence of Benedetta Tagliabue, Principle of EMBT, who will give a lecture on "Blending and Experimentation" on October 8th.

The 11th Budapest Design Week presents the theme of "Figurative Sense" an exploration of the design possibilities and challenges presented by rapidly changing in technologies. Each year, Budapest Design Week also hosts another country as its "Guest of Honour," with this year's guests coming from the Netherlands, and the Design Week program arguing that "the current Hungarian design ecosystem bears considerable similarities to the Dutch constellation of 25 years ago, which was the starting point of Dutch design on its path towards conquering the world."
Dutch designer Jurgen Bey is the principle guest of this exchange program, presenting his lecture "The designer as strategic planner" on October 9th, 2:00 pm at the Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design.
Benedetta Tagliabue's lecture, arranged by the Hello Wood art program as an extension to their summer camp where EMBT was represented by Salvador Gilabert Sanz, will also take place at the Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design, October 8th at 10:00 am.
