CurrentSet: A Digital Drawing App That Fosters Collaboration

CurrentSet, one of a number of cloud-based digital apps for managing construction drawings on the go, seeks to foster collaboration among architects, project managers and on-site professionals. Uniquely, the app is offered free of charge before allowing users to add features as and when they require them.

By organising drawings into a "master set", drawings (or sheets) are automatically named and numbered. By tracking changes as they're made, the app keeps the most recent set of drawings available at the top of the digital pile for everyone who's using it - whether on site or in the office. In addition, users can review and mark-up drawings with annotations and comments without being chained to a desk. Noting that "redlining, reprinting, and redistributing paper-based drawings is expensive" the people behind the app claim that using cloud based software "saves users thousands of dollars in reduced printing costs for drawing revisions, and hundreds of hours lost to manual distribution of new drawing sets to project team members." For managing and streamlining day to day project requirements, CurrentSet may be worth exploring.
