BU Landmark Complex / Architects 49 The Bangkok University Landmark Complex is initiated on the necessities that are to reorganize the frontal area of the campus and to create an outstanding approach for the campus’s entrance. The POD / Hijjas Kasturi Associates Sdn with Studio Nicoletti Associati The Petaling Jaya Comerical City (PJCC) on-site sales office and showroom gallery, also known as the POD is situated off Jalan PJS2 in Petaling Jaya. Located a mere 15-minute drive from Kuala Lumpur city centre with direct access off the easy-flowing New Pantai Expressway (NPE), the POD stands with a gross floor area of 750 sqm. Chimney House / Marcio Kogan A wooden patio with trees, formed by the volumetry of the house and a concrete wall, articulates the entire program of the Chimney House. The living room is enclosed in the boxed ground floor of this volume and wide windows open it to the external space. The inner dimensions of the living room 6.5m by 10.3m, and the low ceiling of 2.40m, create a sensation of coziness, accentuated by the textured of the concrete ceiling made with narrow wooden formwork (read more…)
Update: Elbe Philharmonic Hall / Herzog and de Meuron Slowly, but surely, Hamburg’s beautiful Elbe Philharmonic Hall is nearing completion (according to the Philharmonic’s construction website, the roof construction that seals the large concert hall has just been completed!). Ordinary House / FORM/Kouichi Kimura Architects This project is a house built in new residential area that has no special character. This situation made the architect wonder if most of the people don’t want anything special or if they just want an ordinary house on an ordinary plot.
