In honor of its LEED Platinum certification earlier this year by the U.S.Green Building Council (USGBC), The Green Building of Louisville, KY will host an official plaque ceremony and exhibition reception for the public on Friday, September 2, 2011.

Presented by the Kentucky Chapter of the USGBC and The Green Building’s owners, Gill and Augusta Holland, the this event will feature local dignitaries and speakers, as well as green building activists.
Following the plaque ceremony, the celebration will move into The Green Building Gallery for the opening reception of the FORM, ENVIRONMENT, RESEARCH exhibit. Arranged as a panorama and presented by the award winning architecture firm, form environment research (fer) studio, this exhibit chronicles the collaborative process of sustainable design and plots the evolution of several ecological projects, including The Green Building, from concept to reality. The exhibition will continue to be on display for the IdeaFestival September 21-24th, and will be available for viewing through October 21st, 2011.

The Green Building is the first LEED Platinum project in the city of Louisville and the first LEED certified adaptive re-use project in the state of Kentucky.
