The Barcelona Institute of Architecture (BIArch) is currently receiving applications to the second edition of the MBIArch post-professional degree program, with classes beginning in September.
With a master’s degree awarded together with the Universitat Pompeu Fabra and the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, the MBIArch is supported by an outstanding international faculty with the 2011-2012 academic year set to include design seminars and studios with Pier Vittorio Aureli, Philippe Rahm, Cecilia Puga, Iñaki Ábalos, Philip Ursprung and Yoshiharu Tsukamoto among others.
Students from five different continents took part in the 2010-2011 inaugural MBIArch program, with some notable aspects including lectures with Enrique Walker and Riken Yamamoto, and architectural design studios led by David Adjaye, Stan Allen and Ábalos.
Through both the MBIArch curriculum and the Institute’s ongoing Open Lectures & Events BIArch aims to provide its students with a platform to develop the skills needed in exploring the analytical and operative capacities of projects to allow for a richer, more stable professional perspective.
Requiring one year of full-time study and offered entirely in English, the MBIArch consists of 60 ECTS credits and is open to candidates holding a professional degree in architecture.
BIArch will be accepting applications to next year’s program until July 15th.
