Costa Brava Gran Casino / b720 Fermín Vázquez Arquitectos The Gran Casino Costa Brava, located in the historic gardens of the Gran Hotel Monterrey in the centre of Lloret de Mar (Girona), is based on a distinctive environmental and architectural project by b720 Arquitectos, headed by Fermín Vázquez. At once practical and singular, the design of the new casino breaks with convention by approaching the complex as a unified structure that rises out of the ground. Undena Multifunctional Sport & Wellness / Architectural Bureau G.Natkevicius & Partners Complex consist of 27 buildings: outdoor amphitheater, outdoor volleyball, basketball and tennis courts, 20 hotel-type little houses, two saunaa, restaurant with conference hall, two buildings with banqueting hall, kitchen, hotel rooms and sauna. 80 Dekalb / Della Valle + Bernheimer Located on the third floor of a residential tower, this amenity space combines a fitness center with a diverse entertainment program including screening room, gaming area, and demonstration kitchen. The boundary between these two programs is defined by a folded metal structure. This luminous patterned surface intersects the residential corridor to form the entrance (read more…)
Stapleton Pool House / Semple Brown Design Parks and open space define many of Denver’s great neighborhoods. The Stapleton Development (Denver’s old airport) is devoting nearly 30% of its 4,700 acres to parks and open-space. Semple Brown Design’s project team was an original member of the master planning for Stapleton’s open spaces and parks. Istanbul Edition Hotel Spa / Hirsch Bedner Associates Dark materials include rich metallic woods, embossed bronze floors, walls upholstered in exquisite horsehair. There are very few straight walls or corridors in guest areas and that helps to make the spaces mysterious and allows guests to discover new areas as they journey through it (read more…)
