Spanish architects Lluis Sabadell Artiga + Ecosistema Urbano shared with us their project ONETHOUSANDSQUARE, winner of the Stortorget Main Square Competition in Hamar, Norway. More images and architect’s description after the break.
ONETHOUSANDSQUARE is the winning proposal for the Stortorget main square Competition in Hamar, a Norwegian city 130 km from Oslo. The winning proposal of the new main square connects the city’s development to the rest of world through the design of public space using 21st Century tools. The ONETHOUSANDSQUARE project will bring together local and worldwide participants to take part in the collaborative process of thinking and designing an Open Source space.ONETHOUSANDSQUARE will connect both digital and physical workspace at Stortorget Square.
The innovative project will produce a wide range of benefits and three clear outcomes for the Hamar community: A participative design process that will engage Hamar’s social sphere, an On-site installation or XL-mock up that will summarize the progression of interactive experiences and, finally, an architectural and urban design plan for Stortorget Square tested and experienced by Hamar citizens, a design that will consider and sum up all the conclusions and experiences that have occurred during the whole ONETHOUSANDSQUARE experience.
ONETHOUSANDSQUARE is a project by Lluis Sabadell Artiga and ecosistema urbano.
