Biennale Svizzera del Territorio: A Finale Looking Ahead

The fifth edition of the Biennale svizzera del territorio concludes on Saturday, November 30, with a day full of activities at Villa Saroli Park in Lugano, combining craftsmanship, architecture, and collective reflection.

From 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, a vibrant craft and design market will host 30 exhibitors offering unique creations. Workshops will engage visitors throughout the day, including:
• Bring your own dough! Communal wood oven in the as part of the "Bake to the Future" Action (12:00 PM – 5:00 PM). For more information and to register, visit baketothefuture.ch.
• Kids Creative Workshop, organized by Fabbrica di Ospitalità, where children can create and play around urban themes in a collaborative setting (2:00 PM – 5:00 PM) Free registration at kids@i2a.ch.

At 3:30 PM, the official Biennale finissage begins with a guided tour of the Call for Action installations displayed across the park. The day's reflections will culminate in an open discussion, reviewing the diverse ideas for the future sparked by this year's event.

The highlight of the day is the opening of CCP07 - Architectures in Transition, an exhibition curated by Nicola Regusci and Xavier Bustos, featuring projects from Barcelona, Wallonia-Brussels, Luxembourg, and Grand Est, alongside five new projects from Ticino. Focusing on sustainability, reuse, and social responsibility, the exhibition will be inaugurated with a roundtable discussion featuring:
• Julie Wilhelm, architect, MW Architectes (Grand Est)
• Eric Marx, architect (Luxembourg)
• Giulia Augugliaro and Hermes Killer, architects (Ticino)
Moderated by Nadia Dias (architect and Guest Lecturer in Architecture and Design at ETH Zurich), the discussion will address architecture's evolving role in tackling environmental and cultural challenges.

The day concludes with a convivial aperitif. The CCP07 exhibition will be open until February 1, 2025, and the walking "Spunti per il futuro del nostro territorio", remains accessible until December 5, 2024.
