Join us for a summer workshop on earth building! We will construct a rammed earth pavilion and explore ways to use natural materials in architecture. Special attention will be given to hemp as a building material. No prior knowledge is required! The workshop will take place at the Center for Earth Building in Dobrava pri Škocjanu 23.
The workshop fee is €200 (for students and subscribers of Outsider magazine, the fee is €150). It includes the educational program and accommodation at the Center for Earth Building.
Architecture students (ULFA LJ) can complete the course “Architectural Workshop” and receive 2 credit points by participating in the workshop.
ZAPS members can earn 3 credit points by participating.

What is the Center for Earth Building, and where is it located? The Center for Earth Building was established in 2021 as a hub for research and education on natural building materials and techniques. It is located on a farm in Dobrava pri Škocjanu 26. An old, abandoned barn has been converted into a multifunctional building with a project space on the ground floor and a shared dormitory and toilet facilities in the attic. The farmyard becomes a workspace and social area during events.
Since its founding, the Center has hosted more than 15 workshops, two international workshops, four exhibitions, and a multi-day festival. At the Center, we have built two pavilions and are developing a system for modular construction with rammed earth.
