Today more than ever we need to safeguard one of the cornerstones of sustainable urban development: citizen participation in urban planning processes.
Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) indicator 11.3.2, which focuses on participatory planning processes, could be removed from the Global SDG Database. The reason is that less than 30% of countries collect data for this important indicator, and we only have six months to change this situation.
That's why we need your help!
At UN-Habitat, we have developed a new, easy-to-use data collection tool:
· It will only take you three minutes to complete.
· It can be translated into any language.
· It includes a global map that shows immediate results (at the end of the survey) and the opportunity to compare with cities around the world.
This tool is part of the Our City Plans digital platform (https://ourcityplans.org/), a global methodology that guides and supports local governments and urban stakeholders to customize and develop inclusive and integrated urban planning processes, following a participatory and incremental approach that adapts to their needs and local context.
Help us save indicator 11.3.2 by answering this quick survey (https://ourcityplans.unhabitat.org/sdg-11-indicator) and share the tool with others.
Inclusive and participatory urban planning processes are key to creating sustainable urban futures and strengthening social cohesion and local democracy, so your participation and support are vital to preserving the integrity and impact of this indicator.
Time is of the essence: Let’s act NOW!
