BOMAT, a Belgian family-owned company, unveils a new collection of carpets inspired by architectural elements. This innovative collection features seven distinct textures, each named after an iconic architect, capturing the essence of brick, tile, and mortar lines and textures.
The Archiscape is a part of Pure, one of BOMAT's three Moods where carpets with neutral, casual colors and textures are gathered, providing structure to the space and creating a calming atmosphere. Through meticulous research into weaving methods, the Belgian design team collaborated with production experts in India to develop seven innovative designs that depict and complement architectural elements.
"The tactility of natural textile fibers and the geometry of architecture seamlessly come together in this collection. We translated the lines and textures of bricks, tiles, and mortar into warp, weft, and pile," said Amélie and Ann-Gaëlle Bekaert.
The result is soft surfaces that emerge as a logical extension of architecture. The subtle color palette, built of shades like "Burnt Brick," "Mossed Concrete," "Castle Wall," and "Porcelain Tile", is inspired by concrete, brick, and other architectural materials. Whether used as wall-to-wall carpet, as a rug or as upholstery for architectural elements, the soft yarns in this collection add zest and comfort to any architectural space..
About BOMAT:
Founded by Johan Bekaert in 1983, BOMAT is a Belgian brand and manufacturer of high-quality custom carpets. For 27 years, the brand had thriving production facilities in Nepal, where, at its peak, 350 people were employed. In 2006, a joint venture was established in Bhadohi, India - a region with a rich tradition in carpet weaving dating back to the 16th century. The Indian production facility works in synergy with a strong Belgian design department and currently employs over 100 people. Since 2019, Johan's daughters, Amélie and Ann-Gaëlle Bekaert, have been at the helm of BOMAT. Inspired by the brand's rich history, they are excited to write the next chapter of this adventure. Through fair production, a continuous focus on quality, and pushing creative boundaries, they aim to define the atmosphere of your interior. BOMAT unequivocally chooses ethically responsible production and the use of materials that are as sustainable and ecologically friendly as possible.
