Lisbon Triennale 2025 Venice Kick-off

The 7th edition of the Triennale marks its first public moment in Venice during the Pavilion Days of Biennale Architettura 2023. Moderated by chief curators John Palmesino and Ann-Sofi Rönnskog from Territorial Agency, the clash of ideas brings together experts from art to architecture, science, technology and the humanities.

The upcoming Triennale instigates a three-year research into the complex set of transformations of both the city and its backdrop, revealing a new figure in the making with a magnitude of planetary dimensions. It aims to open a public space of learning, experience, curiosity, inquiry, debate, delight, outrage, speculation, transgression, imagination and action about the possible futures of cohabitation.

The programme comprises a debate involving Shaul Bassi (Head of Studies of the Master's Degree in Environmental Humanities at the Ca'Foscari University of Venice); Mónica Bello (Head of Arts at CERN); Raoul Bunschoten (Founder of Chora and Professor for Sustainable Urban Planning and Urban Design at TU Berlin); Andreia Garcia (Curator of the Portuguese Pavilion); Lela Rekhviashvili (Researcher at Leibniz Institute for Regional Geography, Leipzig).

As part of the European New Temporality programme, this kick-off hosted by the Georgian Pavilion marks the beginning of a preparatory sessions’ cycle that fuels the discussion, inspires connections, and fosters new inquiries.
