Ceramic Facade System in Penzkopfer Headquarters | Flexbrick

The headquarters of the Company Penzkopfer has a single envelope facade structure using the Flexbrick system, acting as a double exterior skin and also working as a sunscreen. The functionality of the facade structure helps the building achieve the energy-efficient goals the designers, Bollwein Architects had.

Facade Design

The materials installed into the Flexbrick system consist of glazed ceramics in reddish tones on all the faces. There are placed at a slight inclination of the planes of the facade providing the building with a unique effect and depth created by light and reflections.

System Benefits

The Flexbrick system offered the architects lightness, prefabrication, quick installation, durability, complete recyclability, and a low carbon footprint. These were all relevant features of the solution chosen for the facade. The all-mechanical aesthetic and design paired with the unique materiality made it an easy choice for the architects.
