Quarries
Piedra Paloma uses their Metagallar and Calorato quarries in Seville to manufacture their limestone products. This includes every step from extraction to export creating a sustainable product with a low embodied energy.
- Matagallar quarry
The Matagallar quarry is located in Seville. Its beginnings date back to 1925. Since then, the quarry has constantly evolved to become a modern workplace where the entire process of Piedra Paloma limestone is made. - Calatorao quarry
The Calatorao quarry is located in Calatorao, Zaragoza. The use of Calatorao limestone dates of the Arab period and has been traditionally used in civil works. However, at Piedra Paloma a careful selection process is applied to obtain the Calatorao Faces and Genesis limestone. The limestone from the Calatorao quarry is fundamentally black with black sections and different shades of red, green, gold and white colors.
