The HealthPartners Regions Hospital in St. Paul, Minnesota, underwent a period of refurbishment to increase patient comfort and satisfaction. The renovation project was aimed at improving the aesthetic and functional elements of a general patient care unit to provide occupants with space to properly heal. In dealing with a tight budget and time constraints, the design team collaborated with 3M™ to rework the interior finishes with high-quality and cost-effective products.
Design Goals
Overall, the HealthPartners Regions Hospital design prioritizes the needs of the patients. With careful consideration, the patient care units were redesigned to ensure a durable and welcoming space that helps patients feel comfortable throughout their entire healing process.
While this was a top priority, the hospital faced major obstacles in creating high-quality spaces with a restrictive budget. Thus, the 3M™ DI-NOC™ Architectural Finishes was selected as an ideal material to renovate various locations without going over budget and came with the added benefit of fast installation, to prevent patient care units from being out of working order for long periods of time.
DI-NOC™ Architectural Finishes Benefits
The 3M™ DI-NOC finishes were applied to the cabinet and door surfaces within the patient care rooms. This allowed the care areas to take on a new look with light-wood finishes while providing cost benefits for the HealthPartners Regions Hospital. DI-NOC is a long-lasting vinyl finish that also presented sustainable solutions, by eliminating the need to completely take out the cabinetry and doors, thus preventing excess waste.
