Störmer, Murphy & Partners architects modernized the HELM headquarters using Kvadrat Acoustic panels to achieve the aim of uniting state-of-the-art technology with excellent acoustics. Soft Cells panels in the restaurant and the high-tech conference rooms ensure excellent acoustic conditions.
In the conference rooms, the acoustic panels are installed on doors and suspended from the ceiling. Störmer, Murphy & Partners recognized the importance of engineering acoustics and opted to use Kvadrat Acoustics suspended from the ceiling and on all the doors that open for storage. This approach involved overcoming tricky technical requirements.
HELM Refurbishment
HELM AG is a multifunctional distribution company specializing in chemicals, crop protection, fertilizers and active pharmaceutical ingredients. The company’s refurbished headquarters in Hamburg was originally designed by architects Hans Jochem and Peter Hauske in 1972.
The architects emphasized the horizontal structure of the building by installing a new aluminum sheet façade with a striking design motif: diagonal folds in the white aluminum cladding deliver varying light and shadow effects throughout the day. The building is linked by a bridge to the opposite Hanse Hause, which has an almost identical structure

Soft Cells are acoustic panels from Kvadrat Acoustics, primarily used as building components, they are also suitable for post-fitting. Made with recycled aluminum and with a textile finish the acoustic panels are tensioned to withstand humidity and temperature conditions. They can be re-upholstered and their components reused as often as required.
