Ananas Anam is the maker of Piñatex®, an innovative natural textile made from waste pineapple leaf fibre. This natural, non-woven material can be used as a sustainable alternative to leather and petroleum-based textiles for interior furnishings. Made from by-products of the agriculture industry, it requires no extra land, water or pesticides to produce it. From initial sampling to developing a viable supply chain, the Piñatex® journey is inspired by the principles of a Circular Economy and Cradle to Cradle values.
